Standards
What we quote against
These are the published standards the constructions above are built and tested to. They are public documents — if your tender references a different or additional standard, send it with the enquiry and we respond against that instead.
Where a certificate belongs to the manufacturing mill rather than to us, it is supplied in the mill’s name and we say so.

Technical FAQ
Questions buyers ask before ordering
What do you need from me to quote?
Fiber count and grade, cable construction or an equivalent part number, armouring and sheath material, drum length, total quantity, destination port and required delivery window. If you have a drawing or an existing datasheet, send that instead — we quote against it directly.
GYTS or GYTA — which should I specify?
Both are stranded loose tube designs. GYTS uses corrugated steel tape armouring, GYTA aluminium tape. Steel gives better rodent and crush protection for direct burial; aluminium is lighter and non-magnetic, often preferred in duct or where induced currents matter.
When do I need an anti-tracking sheath on ADSS?
Electric field strength at the cable position drives it. As a working rule, standard PE is used below roughly 35 kV field conditions and an AT sheath at or above that. Span and loading class should come from a route survey, not a catalogue default.
Can you match a cable already in my network?
Yes. Send the printed sheath marking, the original datasheet or a sample length. Matching fiber grade, tube count and sheath dimensions matters if the new cable will be spliced into or pulled alongside existing plant.
What is the difference between G.657A1 and G.657A2?
Both are bend-tolerant single-mode and backward compatible with G.652D. A2 tolerates tighter bends — down to a 7.5 mm radius — which is why it is normally specified for drop cable and in-building routing where installers cannot control the bend.
Do you supply test data with the cable?
Yes. Every drum ships with a factory test report covering attenuation per fiber at the relevant wavelengths, plus the OTDR trace. Length, drum number and batch are recorded against the report so the documentation matches the physical drum.
What drum lengths are standard?
2 km and 4 km are the common outside-plant lengths, with ±5 % tolerance. Non-standard lengths can be wound to order — useful when your span layout would otherwise leave an awkward offcut, though it affects price and lead time.
How is the cable packed for sea freight?
Wooden or steel-reinforced drums, both cable ends sealed and accessible for pre-installation testing, drum lagged for container transit. Marking shows cable type, fiber count, length, drum number and batch.
Can you supply to a written specification or tender?
Yes — that is the preferred way to work. Send the specification and we respond clause by clause, flagging anything we cannot meet rather than quoting around it.
What are your payment and delivery terms?
Quoted per order against incoterms and destination. Terms, lead time and the applicable incoterm are stated on the quotation itself before anything is confirmed.
Have a specification ready?
Send the fiber count, construction and quantity. We respond with a written quotation, lead time and the datasheet for the exact construction quoted.
